Thursday's Children was formed in 2018 by Hull-based theatre-makers Sami Hindmarsh, Rebecca Sawdon and Jake Smith as a company and collective to create bold new theatre made and firmly rooted in Hull, whilst facilitating and nurturing the rich pool of talents Hull has to offer the world of the theatre.
It was this clash of the time periods which inspired the core aspirations of Thursday's Children. Their aim is to challenge expectations of Shakespeare in performance by adapting stories and plays from the past to produce original work which breaks down the barriers between "old" and "new", dusts the cobwebs off the timeless tales of Shakespeare and his contemporaries and resonates deeply with audiences of today.
With poetry, theatre magic, and a generous helping of pub and club culture, Thursday's Children bring yesterday crashing into today with a spectacle.
